Vantage Capital, a boutique private equity firm specializing in mid-market manufacturing, was facing a critical bottleneck: their manual due diligence process was too slow to compete in a fast-paced market. We developed "Vantage Sight," a proprietary data aggregation platform that automated 60% of their initial screening process, resulting in a 40% increase in qualified deal flow and a $50M fund fully deployed ahead of schedule.
The Client
Vantage Capital manages over $500M in assets, focusing on turning around legacy manufacturing companies.
Industry: Private Equity / Investment Management
Location: New York, NY
Focus: Operational efficiency and digital modernization.
The Challenge: Data Overload
Vantage’s analysts were spending 30 hours per week manually scraping data from PDFs, financial reports, and market news to evaluate potential acquisitions.
Speed to Insight: By the time an analyst built a model, hot deals were often already scooped up by larger competitors.
LP Transparency: Limited Partners (investors) received static, quarterly PDFs that offered little visibility into how their capital was performing in real-time.
"In our business, information is the only edge. We were drowning in data but starving for insights. We needed a way to cut through the noise without hiring an army of analysts." — James Sterling, Managing Partner at Vantage Capital
The Solution: "Vantage Sight" Portal
We built a custom, secure web application tailored to the specific needs of PE due diligence.
1. Automated Data Ingestion We built scrapers that automatically pull data from target companies' public filings and private data rooms, instantly populating the firm's valuation models. What took 3 days now takes 3 minutes.
2. The "Red Flag" Dashboard Instead of reading every page of a report, partners now see a dashboard that highlights anomalies—declining margins, irregular cash flows, or supply chain risks—using a simple traffic light system (Red/Yellow/Green).
3. Investor Relations Portal We replaced the quarterly PDF with a secure login for LPs. Investors can now log in anytime to see a real-time visualization of the portfolio's health, capital calls, and distributions, fostering deeper trust.
The Results
2x Deal Velocity: The firm doubled the number of Letters of Intent (LOIs) issued in Q3 due to faster processing.
Record Fundraising: The transparency of the new portal was a key selling point in raising their newest $200M fund.
Analyst Retention: Junior staff reported higher job satisfaction as they shifted from data entry to strategic analysis.
